Cobactan 2.5% is a modern 4th generation cephalosporin, ready-to-use suspension for injection that combines excellent activity and high target animal tolerance with short withdrawal periods for meat and milk. The active ingredient cefquinome is exclusively used in the veterinary field.

Composition
Suspension of 25 mg cefquinome (as sulphate) per ml.

Ready-to-use suspension for injection. 

Indications  
Treatment of infections caused by bacteria sensitive to cefquinome, such as:

• respiratory tract infections in cattle by Pasteurella spp., Mannheimia spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Streptococcus suis.
• foot infections in cattle
• Acute E. coli mastitis
• E. coli septicaemia in calves

Dosage

Dosage interval 
24 hours. 

Duration of treatment 
2-5 days.
 
Method of administration  
By intramuscular injection.
 
Withholding period  
For meat:  
cattle: 5 days
For milk: 2 milkings (24 hours)
(National regulations should be observed).
 
Presentation  
Vials containing 50 and 100 ml.
 
Storage  
Store below 25°C. Do not freeze
 
Contra-indications 
Not to be used in animals known to be allergic to cephalosporins.

Precautions  
Operators allergic to cephalosporins should avoid skin contact with the product.
